Joanne began teaching for studios around Los Angeles in 1997 and opened her own business in 2007. Over a 14 year period she bacame a successful performing arts program, bringing classes, shows and camps to children through 3 districts in the LA County. Her shows became a staple in community Holiday events and gave people of all ages the opportunity to live out their dreams of being onstage in a musical show.

The Junior Acting Academy builds confident, articulate, and expressive students through engaging, movement-based acting classes. Students learn to step outside their comfort zones while developing communication skills, creativity, empathy, and leadership—skills that extend far beyond the stage.
Through games, physical activities, monologues, and scene work, students explore storytelling, body language, vocal projection, tone, and audience engagement. Classes emphasize critical thinking, teamwork, and self-expression, helping students learn how to listen, react, and communicate authentically with others.
Our curriculum is energetic, supportive, and designed to help each student discover their unique voice and personality. Students gain confidence in presenting ideas, collaborating with peers, and expressing themselves clearly—skills that translate directly to academic success and strong self-representation in competitive and leadership settings.
Each session concludes with a presentation showcasing what students have learned and how they have grown. Progress is based on effort, creativity, and a willingness to try new things, empowering students to become dynamic communicators both on and off the stage.
Course Description:
Monologues
Level 1 (Ages 6–8)
Jan 28 – Mar 18 | Wed 4:45–6:15 PM
Introductory acting class focusing on confidence, expression, and storytelling through individual monologues.
Level 2 (Ages 9+)
Jan 28 – Mar 18 | Wed 6:15–7:45 PM
Advanced monologue work including improvisation, character development, and performance techniques.
Scene Studies
Level 1 (Ages 6–8)
Apr 1 – May 20 | Wed 4:45–6:15 PM
Students explore dialogue and teamwork through short scenes, emphasizing listening skills and authentic performance.
Level 2 (Ages 9+)
Apr 1 – May 20 | Wed 6:15–7:45 PM
